892.1pts profit in less than 9 months
Ever pick up a win on the horses and it doesn't feel like much of a win?
£10 staked, £25 back, yes you made profit but the next bet loses and you're sat with
1 winner from 2 and a mere fiver profit to your name.
That's whats different about my Each Way Guru service.
Hi, I'm Luke Hudson and when I pick up a winner, it really feels like a win.
Each-way betting is one of the most powerful tools in a punter’s arsenal but is often misused by punters and tipsters alike. Using it effectively requires understanding the underlying math, market dynamics, and race conditions.
You don't need to understand any of that, that's where I come in.
I've been an avid punter for years, met my now wife at the Chester races back in 2001 after sparking up a conversation about the next race and was stunned, probably an understatement, that she knew more about it than me.
Her family was heavily involved in the horse racing game and I've had many a conversation with her father and uncles about horses, races, strategy and more.
Do I know everything about horse racing, absolutely not but I know a hell of a lot and I'm one of those guys who's always looking to learn more. For me, each way betting allows me to see real profits with a winner, we're not fighting for the next winner just to get back even backing low priced favourites. So if that sounds like what you're looking for too, keep reading.
First a quick explanation of each way betting.
If we place a 1pt stake on a horse and go each way, the stake covers 1pt on the win and 1pt on the horse finishing in the remaining paid places, these are typically:
5-7 runners - 2 paid places
8+ winners - 3 paid places
16+ runners - 4 paid places
There are a few exceptions to this especially when you take into account bookie offers on certain races.
Let me be clear, we're looking for the win in all bets. We're bot betting to pick up a place but when you back at larger odds you've got to expect a lower win rate. The place returns keeps the bank in check and things ticking over.
So what do I do?
I identify the Ideal Race Profiles from each day's meetings.
"Dead 8" Races: Non-handicaps or handicaps with exactly 8 or 9 runners. You get 3 places for a relatively small field size, creating maximum statistical coverage. Finish in the top third and we're getting paid.
Big-Field Handicaps (16+ runners): Highly competitive races where finding the winner is tough, but finding an unexposed or high-rated runner to hit the top 4/5/6 is realistic. With bookie offers we're often getting paid down to 5, 6, and even 7 places.
"False Favourite" Races: Races where a heavily hyped favourite is at 1/1 or 6/4, but looks vulnerable or unproven on the going/distance. The favourite skews the market, inflating the prices of solid 8/1 to 12/1 contenders in the place market.
These all give us a great opportunity to profit.
The main reason people fail with each way betting is the expectation of winners every day. Your mindset needs to change to see long term profits from each way betting. You need to take the bad runs as well as the good and bank management is key. I advise anyone starting out to bet to fixed level staking. That's the same amount on each bet for at least 3 months. After this we can look at more interesting growth potential using our bank depending on your comfort level with risk.
Each Way Guru Maximiser Strategy
When you're betting at big odds you need to be able to take a few losing days along the way.
The wins are big but they're not going to happen all the time.
My strategy involves just 2 selections per day (Monday - Saturday), the time it takes to check the race profiles and analyse the runners daily is no easy task, so for my sanity (and that of my wife) I take Sunday's off to spend with the family (yes it does involve talking racing, wins and losses with her family).
The 2 selections are backed as each way singles (1pt each way)
The double is also backed each way (0.5pt each way)
That's a 5pt outlay per day.
Using this approach at the odds I back at means just
one winning double would mean profit on the month
I recommend using a 200pt starting bank.
So far this year that has grown considerably, take a look at the stats...
6 Winning Months / 2 Losing Months / 692.96pts Profit
Here's the month my month breakdown of my profit and loss so far this year:
January +56.82pts
February +138.20pts
March -34.68pts
April +73.41pts
May +247.35pts
June +152.67pts
July +98.36pts
August -39.17pts
Total P/L: +692.96pts
We've had 6 months end in profit, the best being May with close to 250pts profit, 2 losing months but
both came after and were followed by winning months.

199.14pts profit but...
The headline is great, 20 days into the month, 199.14pts profit. Almost an average of
10pts profit per day and we don't even bet every day.
But..
We dropped to a 26.8pt loss before the first winner of the month (2 at the same time) which as I've explained more or less means profit on the month. Getting over the hurdle of disconnecting from the day to day results, beliving in the long term, correct
bank management and trusting the process are all key to being a successful each way punter.
Mindset for success in each way betting...
Mastering the mindset for each-way betting is what separates professional, long-term punters from recreational gamblers.
Because each-way betting built around backing value horses (typically 6/1 to 16/1+) carries a different variance profile than backing 6/4 favourites, your psychological framework must be tuned to handle a totally different rhythm of winning and losing.
Detach from Outcome, Attach to Edge
Move away from 'did my horse win' every time to embracing the place safety net. Picking up small profits for place returns allows us stay away from drastic swings in the bank and keep the focus on the value each winner holds when it does come in.
Learn to tolerate a longer losing streak
When backing horses at 10/1+ strike rates are going to drop from your average win only tipster backing favourites or even lower priced runners. Again embrace the place returns while waiting for the wins to come.
Never chase losses
On a cold streak, don't try to get that back by "feeling" a win is coming. The same applies after a run of good results, increasing the staking after a good run thinking it will continue will often lead to a bigger loss than was necessary. Stick to the staking you agreed with yourself at the start.
Bank managemet when getting started...
As I've already mentioned bank management is crucial and I advise anyone starting out to bet at level stakes for at least 3 months.
You may notice that I haven't shown how much I stake and I do this for a couple of reasons:
1) I'm using a percentage staking approach so the stake changes, currently month on month.
2) People see what I stake and simply don't try the service because they cannot afford the same stakes.
You can use any stake you want but my advice is this...
Don't look at the overall profit, or even monthly profits to decide on your starting stakes.
Its easy to look at 199pts profit this month and say things like...
"I'll use £25 stakes, that would be nearly £5,000 profit this month"
"890pts profit on the year to date, I can afford £10 stakes, that's nearly £9,000 profit so far"
Instead, look at the recommended bank.
200pts.
£10 stakes means having £2,000 as your betting bank.
£25 stakes means having £5,000 as your starting bank.
If those are a stretch, you need to start smaller. The closer you get to an overall amount that is uncomfortable for you, the more you'll not be able to disconnect from each losing day or losing run and the quicker you'll be willing to give up.
Giving up potential profits from smaller stakes is a tough decision to make but missing big winners because
you went too high too soon is where most punters fail.
To summarise, bet sensible, with a comfortable amount and stick to that staking for 3 months.
This will lead to long term success.
